About me

Hi, my name is Donny.

For the last 13 years, I've held various IT roles for the same company, including DevOps Engineer, Automation Engineer, IT Project Manager, File Transfer Administrator, SharePoint Administrator, and Systems Architect. Over the years, I've become very efficient at designing and implementing internal tools and applications that help to reduce employee workflow. I have also become very fluent in communicating with both the technical and non-technical sides of the house.

Tired of the heat, I moved with my wife and ferrets from Phoenix, AZ to Seattle, WA in 2017. I enrolled in Galvanize's Web Development Immersion Program and, since graduating in July, 2017, I have been exploring other technologies and programming languages like C++, docker, GraphQL, React, and Unreal to name a few.

When I'm not learning new things, I'm teaching evening workshops and classes at the Galvanize campus in Seattle. I have taught multiple "Learn to Code" and "Intro to Web Development" CSS/HTML/JavaScript classes, as well as an Amazon Alexa introduction class.

I’m currently seeking a position that will push me and put me outside my comfort zone and help me to bridge the gap from DevOps/Automation Engineer to Developer.
